We're coming to Paonia for 2 weeks of dancing fun at the Blue Sage. Jump in,
and Swing Out! Polish and expand your dance skills, just in time for summertime
dancing. Imagine all kinds of fun!
2 levels of Playshops, for two Wednesdays * June 24 and July 1
Swing into Lindy
for beginning dancers, and experienced dancers looking to refresh your swing skills
6:30 – 8 * June 24 and July 1st
Learn from scratch or brush up on the fun-damentals of the original American swing dance! We'll teach you the basic 6-count Swing steps, cool transitions, the lead / follow roles, and how to create great connection with each other on the dance floor. Lindy Hop, the original form of Swing, is very versatile, and can be danced to everything from Rock 'n Roll to Bluegrass to vintage Big Band music. Have you always wanted to join the fun of partner dance and Swing? Or need to polish these skills? Dust off your shoes and jump in!
Dancers can drop in for one or both weeks, but we highly recommend
coming for both.
Lindy Hop and Solo Jazz Intermediate
for dancers familiar with 6 count swing and partner connection
8 – 9:30 * June 24 and July 1st
Expand your skills, enhance your style and connection, and learn new combinations!
Lindy Hop components include 6-count Swing, Lindy swing out, and Charleston rhythms. We'll give you a taste of all 3, using playful combinations that easily stretch your dance expression. Warm ups will include elements of solo jazz, which can be mixed into your partner swing or danced on your own.
Come for one or both weeks, or ideally, all 4 Playshops, for a really solid experience of fun skill building and swing connection. We'll help you refine your fundamentals and stretch them into new grooves, as you move yourself to the next level.
About the instructors: Mark Willson and Margot Richardson are members of the Savoy Swing Performance troupe which specializes in Lindy Hop; avid social dancers, and part-time P-Town residents currently making their home base in Seattle. Friendliness and humor are trademarks of their instructional style. They love watching their students light up with the joy of social dance!

$ 12 per class = 1.5 hours of instruction and fun!
Or $ 22 for two weeks of one class = 3 hours of instruction and fun!

Drop in: $14 per class for 1.5 hours of instruction and fun!

The P-Town Stomp!
Saturday night social dance, open to everyone!
June 27th * 7– 10 p.m. * $ 7
Social dancing in Swing, Blues, Salsa, Waltz and More!
Free lesson in Swing from 7 – 7:30.
Mini lessons in Salsa and Waltz offered during the dance, and of course, a Birthday Circle! Only $7 buys you an evening of fabulous dance and schmoozing with long-time and brand new friends. We'll play a mix of the finest dance music available for Swing, Blues, Salsa, Two Step, Waltz and even a polka or two. No partner needed. Bring clean, smooth-soled shoes, a water bottle, and a delicious snack to share if you can.
All ages and abilities welcome; this is a community social dance where
cross-generational dancing is encouraged, and anyone can Lead or Follow.
