Oh yeah!  It's time to put on your dancing shoes and cut the rug!

We're offering Salsa 1.5 and Swing 1.5 in November, Thursday nights at the Blue Sage Center for the Arts in Paonia, and 
We Want YOU!  

 Only $7 per class, with a punch card, or $9 without.  Punch cards are good for 4 one hour classes, and can also be used for admission to one of our Saturday dances*!

Dates and times for these Intermediate** classes as follows (skipping Thanksgiving week):

Salsa 1.5  Thursdays November  1, 8, 15, + 29    7 - 8 pm

Swinging at the Sage Jingle Bell Hop!  December 8th, 7 - 10 pm

      Our special holiday-edition dance was a huge hit last year, and we'd sure love to have you with us on the dance floor this year!  Still only $7 for an evening of fun, starting with a lesson in "Santa's Swing" at 7, followed by hours of the greatest holiday-inspired dance music we know, including Swing, Salsa, Lindy Hop, Waltz, Blues, Two Step and more!  Bring non-marking shoes, some snack food to share, and friends!

Salsa and Swingin' at the Sage Social Dance, July

Next Swingin' at the Sage Social Dance:   Final Friday, July 27th, 8 - 11 p.m.

Beach Party - Salsa and Swing, cold drinks, chips and more salsa!

At the Blue Sage - we'll be inside in the "Lounge", and outside at the beach

out back!  $7 admission  Bring friends and visitors to town, for a sizzling

night of dancing and fun!

Last chance for Delicious Dance classes this summer!  We're taking a break for August and September, so come on down to the Blue Sage and get your groove on!

Salsa 1 and Swing 2 !  Starting this Wednesday July 11th, and continuing July 18th and 25th:  

Salsa 1:  Spicy!  Fabulosa!  New latin rhythms to groove with - for beginners and also for refreshing your basics, 7 - 8 pm

plus new moves to add to your latin repertoire!  $7 per class (punch cards will be adjusted to give you full value, if you have one).

No partner required for either class.  Have some great Salsa tunes?  Bring some to share!

Swing 2 :  Inspired! New moves, more finesse, and lots of joyful dancing fun!  Plus Rueda at the very end of class (9 pm)..

$7 per class, punch cards adjusted.

Swingin' June continues into Cherry Days in July!

Thanks to everybody who came out to enjoy the Northfork Flyers!   

...and the chickens!  Annette did a mighty fine job preparing for the evening and running the Chingo games!

Mike Gwinn and the Flyers played all kinds of wonderful music, and demonstrated their musical might.

All together we raised a little over $500 for the Mountain Harvest Festival!  Way to go, team!

during our performance!  We'll be dancing again at   Cherry Days, in the Variety Show on Saturday .

Also, thanks to everybody who came to hear Tamara and David Hauze at the Library, and cheer Mark and I on during our performance at intermission!

 Swingin' on Wednesday night:   at the Blue Sage:  

       Swing 2:   7:30 - 9 pm.  $9 with punch card.  After your Open Dance warm up, we'll learn all-new moves and combinations to jazz up your
dance and connection.  And more Rueda at the tail end of the evening.
(we might go 15 minutes over to allow for this, so it's "outside" of class time)

No Swing 1 for the rest of June, except upon request.

followed by Swing 2 from 8 - 9.

Swingin' Summertime!
Wednesdays in June at the Blue Sage - learn basic swing, review your skills,
or join us for Swing 2 to add more zest, new moves, and greater connection in your dance!
 Swing 1:  All ages welcome, and no partner needed to get started in Swing dance!  We'll learn 6 count swing, partner connection, and plenty of moves to put you at ease on the social dance floor.
6:30 - 7:30, plus half an hour after class to dance and really get your new skills into your muscle memory.
Swing 2:  New moves, greater self expression, and more musicality for your dance! Spend the first half hour warming up, dancing with students from both Swing 1 and 2, and then on we go with more 
joyful Swing grooves for the one hour lesson.  7:30 - 9 p.m.
Free classes:  if you're signing up for Swing 2 and want to help out with Swing 1, too, you can come to Swing 1 for free!  This is also a great opportunity for dancers with experience to switch roles: women can to learn to Lead, or men can learn to Follow. 

Cost:  $9 per class with punch card, $11 drop in.  Special family rate:  3 or more $21 for everyone per lesson.

Swing Rueda! Thursdays in May at the Sage

Swing Rueda!
Taken from Salsa Rueda (rueda means wheel), this circle dance:
* is danced and enjoyed all over the world
* employs very common moves found in Swing, Lindy Hop, and Jazz dance
* moves can also be used in your social dance 
* is easy to learn:  there are only so many moves, a caller tells you which one to lead,
   and women can enjoy leading it, too!

We'll be teaching Rueda each Thursday in May, at the Blue Sage, from 7:30- 9.  You can drop in,
and we also encourage you to take as much of the 4 week session as possible (May 10, 17, 24,
and 31).  Cost is $9 per class, with a punch card, or $11 drop in.

North Fork Flyers put the fun in Fundraising! Saturday June 16th

At last, we get to partner with the fabulous North Fork Flyers, to bring you an evening of 
music and dance with a live - and lively - band!  Only $10, and all proceeds go directly to the Mountain Harvest Festival!  Kids under 12 are free, and we'll provide a special dance / play time from 6 - 6:30 (Hokey Pokey, movement games, and a table for drawing / art making).  Free
dance lesson for everybody from 6:30 - 7, on six count Swing.  Beverages and snacks available for purchase.  Dance anyway you like, or sit back and listen.  Co-sponsored by Delicious Dance.

The London Shim Sham Society on the streets!

Flash dancing everywhere we go brings such joy and wonder to onlookers.  We all need
this in our lives, right?  Shim Shammin' is one way to give to our communities.

April classes and a One Pop Playshop: the Shim Sham Shimmy!

Hi there, dancers!
Our Swing-into-Lindy class is for everybody who
wants to learn Lindy Hop, but is currently more comfortable with 6 count Swing; we'll show you how to combine the two in a fun, relaxing class.
Sundays in April, starting on the 8th, 2:30 - 3:30
plus an extra half hour of practice time, 3:30 - 4 pm.
Lindy 1.5 will focus on continuing to build Lindy Hop skills, and blending in your 6 count Swing moves, so you'll have a nice repertoire of dance moves and will be able to dance easily for hours.
The Shim Sham Shimmy is an easy to learn, super fun routine.  Once you learn it, you'll be able to join with swing and tap dancers all over the world, in performing this individually-danced choreography,
made newly popular by Lindy Hop legend Frankie Manning.  Frankie died a couple years ago, but he lives on in the Shim Sham Shimmy, and the love that Lindy Hoppers hold for him.

Celebrate LOVE and Dancing at our February 18th social dance!

Connecting with each dancer is a way to say, "You are wonderful!" and "Ain't life sweet?"

Valentine's day isn't just about romantic love, we think... it's about every kind of love, including the love of Chocolate!  And that's why we'll be giving away a big bar of Organic, Fair Trade chocolate, imported all the way from Seattle, home of Theo's Chocolate.

When?  Saturday the 18th, 7 - 10 pm, with a One hour lesson in Six count Swing, followed

 by 2 hours of fabulous music for Swing, Salsa, Waltz, Polka, and a line dance or two.

What else?   A mini lesson in basic Waltz, and a Birthday dance for all you February babies!

What to bring?  Friends, finger food to share, slidey non-marking shoes, a water bottle, and

your zest for fun!

Where?  The Blue Sage Arts Center, downtown Paonia (on Grand Avenue).
